As a mother and daughter team, we are thrilled to be chairing this event to raise money and awareness for The Fertility Foundation of Texas, which helps fund grants to couples facing reproductive issues. It is also a great privilege for us to be honoring Dr. Kaylen Silverberg for his leadership and research in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology. It has been an honor to know Dr. Silverberg on a personal level and witness his support of the Foundation over the years. We hope you can join us for this special evening of hope and appreciation.
~ Lindsay Feuerman and Shelley ZausmerDr. Silverberg is an enthusiastic supporter of The Fertility Foundation of Texas, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit started by his wife, Carol, and former infertility patients. The Foundation reaches out to the general community in support of Central Texas infertility patients. The Foundation awards grants to patients who must pay out-of-pocket for prescribed medical care because, in Texas, for the majority of infertility patients, diagnostic costs are covered by insurance, while treatment costs are not covered.
The Foundation's mission is:
[Please note that none of the grants pay for fertility physician fees. Rather, the funds can only be used to pay for medications, laboratory services, anesthesia services, surgery center fees, etc.]
Since it began in 2013, the Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars to many qualified applicants and is proud to welcome babies born to couples who would have otherwise given up on their care because they could not afford treatment.

The Fertility Foundation of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve the Central Texas Infertility community by raising awareness about infertility as a medical condition and by offering infertility patients grants to help offset their costs of prescribed care.
Despite being recognized as a medical disease by the World Health Organization, the Center for Disease Control, and the American Medical Association, infertility treatments are seldom covered by insurance.
Infertility is a medical condition that strikes 1 in 8 couples. 1/3 of infertility is attributed to reproductive health issues affecting the woman; 1/3 is due to male factor; and 1/3 is a combination of both. In most cases, infertility is an unexpected, personal and extremely isolating diagnosis that strikes otherwise healthy young couples as they plan for their future and look to fulfill their dream of having a family.
Since the Foundation's inception in 2013, our volunteer effort has given hope to countless couples who struggle with infertility. We receive 30-40 applications each year, yet are only able to fund 2-4 grants annually. The Foundation has awarded over 12 grants up to $10,000 to qualified applicants, and to date, 4 babies have been born thanks to the generosity of our donors.
